New Zealand Chemistry Olympiad Trust

The New Zealand Chemistry Olympiad Trust organises participation by New Zealand secondary school students in the International Chemistry Olympiads.


The activities organised include:

  • A training group selection examination (usually held in the first week of November).
  • A training/selection camp held in the April vacation at which the team of 4 students and a non-travelling reserve are selected
  • Training of the team prior to the International Olympiad. In 2010 the Olympiad will be held in Tokyo, Japan on 19-28 July. In 2009, in Cambridge, England the New Zealand team won one silver and three bronze medals. New Zealand first competed iin the International Chemistry Olympiads in 1992.
